Yada

I know what some of you are thinking  Yada what is that?  Well  it is a word that I learned at our women's retreat two weeks ago.  So what does it mean??  It means spending time alone with God.  Intimate time with him.  Sitting at his feet and listening to him speak to your heart.  During this time you can also journal and you can write special notes to those that have been put on your heart.  It can also be a time when you lift prayers up to God.  It just is such a special time that is set aside for you and God.  For me I love to Yada when everyone is in bed or when the babies are taking their naps.  During this time I light the candles, and sit and pray.  It is such a personal and private time and afterward let me tell you how refreshed I feel.  I am so thankful that I get to have this time with him.  May you have a blessed rest of the week and remember to take time to spend with God lifting up those prayers and sitting quietly.  How often do we as mothers just sit in the quietness of the night?  I challenge you today to try.  It will be amazing.

Reading with the kids

Jimmy and I love to read to the kids. Jimmy reads with Alexis and I read with Eli.  It is a great way to either begin our night while dinner is cooking or we end our night with reading and it settles the kids down.  It just depends on what is going on in the night.  I love the time, each one of us has with the kids.  It is so sweet and priceless.

Yummy cookies

MMMMM cookies!!!  Yesterday Eli saw these pumpkin sugar cookies at Target and he was so excited to bake them.  So it was their reward to  getting their homework done without complaining.  Yes they did it!!  They were able to finish their homework and get ready for the night.  So we split up the 24 cookies and they each got 12 and they were so excited to make them.  Yeah for sugar cookies and the yummy smell that surrounds our house.

( do you see the one with a bite out of it.  That would be Eli's cookie)

Women's Retreat

What an amazing weekend. Spending time with the ladies at the Bridge and also really seeing what God has planned for me. I was so excited to sit there and listen to Devi Titus and all that she had to offer to us this weekend. I learned a lot of new things, and walked away inspired!! We had so much fun from laughing, crying, praying, eating, and some good old girl time. I love this weekend with the ladies and what an amazing time to bond with the ladies. Thank you all who made this weekend amazing!! You are all such a blessing to me and I am so thankful for you!!

Alexis loves 3rd Grade

WOW!!! Where has this time gone??  Alexis is in the third grade and adjusting to so many new things.  they begin to gain more independence in third grade.  They start writing down all their own homework, and they have to remember to bring everything home.  They start getting higher math, and more social studies.  She is super  on her math and she loves to do it.  She also loves to read.  I will catch her at night when she is suppose to sleeping and she is reading.

She loves her friends and she talks about them all the time.  I have been so proud of her and the amazing example that she is to her friends.  She has such a sweet heart and always wants to make sure her friends are always included and a part of what she is doing.

Alexis and Jimmy have found a new love for reading together.  every night they read a book from the Chronicles of Narina.  They already finished the first one and now they have started on the next.  They love it.

So Alexis is doing well in 3rd grade she too is one of the youngest in her class, but she does just fine.  Alexis Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and let your light shine for Jesus!!

My Little Man

Well so many of you have asked about Eli and how he is adjusting to life as a 1st grader.  Well I would have to say he is doing great!!  We were a bit concerned at the beginning because is about a year younger then the rest of his class, but honestly he is doing great holding on  just fine.

Every Monday I have the honorof working in his classroom and I love it.  I was curious to see how he would act if I was in his classroom and I was shocked!!  He was so well behaved and neve missed a beat.  I get to see how he interacts with his other classmates and how well is he adjusting to sitting at a desk longer then kinder.  He loves school and loves his friends.  He is always right up front listening and taking it all in.  The other night he heard Jimmy and I talking  I said a word that reminded him of something that he learned in school and he talked about and shared with us what the word meant!!!  I was blown away.  One of Eli favorite things to do is to buy lunch and he just thinks it is so cool and a lot of fun.  I am so proud if him and his effort that he is making as a big 1st grader.   Eli you are such an amazing little Guy and we are so proud of you!!

Friday Fun with Alexis and Eli

Posted by Picasa

About once a month on a Friday I like to treat the kids to a special treat. If they have had a really good week at school. Like did their homework and stayed on task, and made getting up easy and off to school on time. Then  we are off for a Friday treat. Sometimes it is ice cream or cinnamon rolls at Cinnamon Productions or a choice that they would like to do. It is a lot of fun and we have a great time. It also a great way to end the week and talk about what the week was like. I love it and I know that they love it too!! Like I always say these days are priceless and I won't have them forever!!!!

Pumpkin Bread

AHHH my house was filled with the smell of pumpkin bread yesterday.  I was so excited to usher in October with a little bit of Pumpkin bread.  I just buy the boxed kind from Trader Joes and we love it.  What can you do with this for this season?

  • Bake it and take it to a Neighbor
  • Wrap them in cello and take one to your child's teacher
  • Wrap it in cello and take with you as a gift to a hostess
  • Or just make some for your family and enjoy!!!!

The kids helped me and they just love to help me in the Kitchen.  So they were super excited to have some of their Pumpkin bread.
